Brace yourselves for yet another “compassionate conservative” gesture that will enrich the wealthy at the expense of the working class.
If you needed further proof that our government has gone completely insane, I submit for your enjoyment this lovely article by Molly Ivins, Coming soon: united serfs of America. Overtime? Who needs overtime? It’s entirely unrealistic to expect overtime pay (or taxes!) from corporations--they’ve got jobs to create! And that whole 40-hour work week thing was really just a fad--there’s no reason to stick with it now that we’ve got a CEO in the White House!
It’s time for the working class to take notice. If Bush isn’t utterly destroyed in the next election, we’ll all be slaves before 2008 comes around.
