Finally! A Mac I can call my own

At long last, today marks my first day as a Mac owner. I picked up my new MacBook last night and let it charge overnight; I’m booting it up for the first time even as I type this message.

So far, so good! Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to learn how to use this thing.

Thanks, UltraBob. Unfortunately, I was unable to score a second MacBook for you, but if you or anyone you know wants the 512MB of memory that originally came with mine (I upgraded it to 2GB), you’re welcome to it.

So, fill me in on all the best Mac stuff, my friend! What are all the must-have applications?

the first thing you absolutely need is quicksilver.  There are a lot of others, and if you tell me what kind of app you want I can likely give you a good app or two for it, but quicksilver is truly one I can’t do without.

Thanks, UltraBob!

I’ll be sure to check out quicksilver when I get a moment, but for right now I really need to get some sleep. And you should, too, young man!

Hey -

Congrats on your Mac. I’m a long-time PC user, but also owned a Mac in the mid 90’s. Loved it. Computers are just tools, so I don’t get all caught up in the Mac vs. PC battles. They both do what they do and it’s up to users to decide which they prefer. With that said, OSX is looking awfully inviting. Especially dual OS boot...the best of both worlds. smile

Anyway, I hope all is well and good luck with your new toy. wink

Congratulations, Sako!
If I can be of help, give me a shout anytime.
